Thirteen years in the future, the government has a strong hold on the country, keeping a controlled peace. Crime is low and the economy is fine. However, when some scientists in a lab's experiment goes horribly wrong, a strange chemical enters the system of a developing child still in her mother's womb.
Once the child was born and he grew, he began to grow abnormal powers, including telekinetic powers. Right out of highschool, this man ran away, knowing the scientists were the sole people who knew about his powers.
He married and had children, still without his wife knowing anything. When kids hit close to age ten, they discovered they had strange powers, too. Panicking, his wife took them away from him. This man was soon to be known as Drake Henderson, the first gifted.
A few years later, the scientists that know about Drake's powers continued to experiment. Not so surprisingly, they made another mistake. The chemicals leaked into a water supply in NYC, and this was not discovered until it was too late. About three thousand people were 'infected', and things got so chaotic that the government had to send out secret agents to track and capture all of the 'infected' people. They tried 'cures' on these people to stop the chemical, but they did not work and only killed the gifted. As a result, nearly all of the gifteds were eliminated.
Nearly.
There are still nearly five hundred gifteds out there, and the agents are still out to find them. This time, however, the agents don't want to get rid of their powers. They want to boost their powers and turn them into weapons against their rival countries, and of course, these chemical injections will prove to be fatal.
Our roleplay takes place in the small desert town of La Tierra Seca. Agents wander here on their way to cities, knowing gifteds would settle here since it is in the middle of nowhere.
Will you help the gifteds from dying out and be a gifted yourself, or will you stop this unrest and put the gifteds to their end as an agent? It is all up to you.
